It was developed in partnership with Dr. Martin Shain and is based on more than a decade of research in organizational design and mental health. The cornerstone of this research is the concept of fairness and its impact on the quality of work relationships. The Vital Workplace™ program uses this conceptual foundation to transform workplace relations, practices and culture.

Dr. Martin Shain is the founder of the Neighbour@Work® Centre. The N@W® Centre is dedicated to health promotion through the pursuit of fairness and reasonableness in employment and other working relationships. Vital Workplace™ is a product of the N@W® Centre in partnership with Integrated Workplace Solutions. Dr. Shain conducts research, evaluation, policy and program development in the areas of health, productivity and social capital. He is an affiliate scientist with the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health.
