Critical Incident Response

When
a crisis occurs in the workplace, FSEAP
provides the expertise that restores calm and productivity. We work with individuals
and groups to facilitate the healing that is required following critical workplace
incidents and traumatic events.
Critical Incident Response services are typically combined with an Employee
Assistance Program.
Your Partner in Workplace Health™
We understand the impact of trauma caused by violence, accidents, death, injury,
illness and suicide on workplaces and employees. We also recognize that there
are different levels and approaches to responding to traumatic incidents. Family
Service Employee Assistance Programs offers a range of Critical Incident
Stress Management (CISM) services to help employees learn effective coping skills
and build resilience to deal with stressful events.
Interventions to address stress and trauma include:
- 24-Hour Telephone Lines
offer direct access to master's
level counsellors for crisis management and emergency response. Counsellors offer
immediate support by phone and, if required, dispatch On-Site Response Services.
- On-site response services place Mental Health
Professionals wherever they're required - and as quickly
as same day if required. The size, breadth
and experience of our response team ensures that we are able to provide an appropriate
and timely response, even to remote locations.
- Counselling Services for individuals
and families provides professional assistance for those who self identify
as having difficulty with stressful events.
- Workplace Training is available for supervisors,
managers, union representatives and other key personnel to ensure that they understand
the impact of stress and trauma on employees and the workplace. We teach them
how to identify and talk to employees at risk and make them aware of support
services available.
- Education and Life-Skills Development seminars are
available
for employees at all levels to help them learn how stress and trauma affects
them in their life and work, how to reduce stress and how to maintain a positive
focus so that they are able to adapt quickly to change and trauma.
- consultation services assist
organizations with the development and implementation of protocols and procedures
for responding to critical incidents.
- Peer First Response Team: We are able to work
with your organization
to enable a group of your own employees to provide assistance on the scene immediately
following a critical incident. We can help you set guidelines and protocols
for the team and provide training for team members.
