Employee Assistance Programs

FSEAP Logo

Family Services Employee Assistance Programs has over 30 years experience in the provision of EAP services. Our services have made a difference in the lives and the quality of work of thousands of employees throughout Canada.

Your Partner in Workplace Health™

As Your Partner in Workplace Health we provide an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) that supports powerful working relationships, increased productivity and strengthened resiliency at all levels of your management and employee teams. Our EAPs include resources, counsel and intervention to assist your staff and their families. We also counsel managers and supervisors in effective ways of dealing with employee challenges and complex workplace situations.

Family Services Employee Assistance Program (FSEAP) has been providing EAP services to Canadian organizations since 1975. Our programs are successful because we instill confidence and trust in the confidential delivery of our services, because services are delivered in a timely manner and because we ensure that the appropriate skills and resources are applied to meet the needs of each individual.

COA Logo FSEAP is member of the Employee Assistance Association of North America (EASNA) and accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA).

NQI Partner LogoWe are also a workplace health serivice provider partnered with the National Quality Institute (NQI) and we participate in the NQI Progressive Excellence Program (PEP).

The Case for EAP

Throughout Canada employers are paying a high price in lost productivity due to growing problems of:

These issues and behaviours affect the workplace and impact the organization's bottom line in the form of increased absences, accidents, and increases in health, disability and compensation claims.

Stronger by Working Together

Our ability to listen and adapt to our client's ever-changing needs is deeply rooted in our own corporate ethic. Our experience over three decades has convinced us that client collaboration is an essential element of establishing the EAP as an indispensable organizational health tool. Not only do we deliver services to those in need of assistance, we also track and measure the changing human needs of your organization. Measures that we typically monitor and profile in aggregate reports include:

  • Improvements in overall health and well-being
  • Level of emotional functioning
  • Quality of workplace and social interactions
  • Impacts on ability to work and quality of work

All programs are assigned a workplace consultant who manages our relationship with your organization and your employees and ensures the quality and effectiveness of your program.

Consulting Services:

Our counsellors are master's level social workers and psychologists with specialized expertise. Through our central telephone Contact Centre and the FSEAP national organization we are able to offer access to services from anywhere in North America including 1 000 face-to-face service locations in Canada.

Crisis response and telephone counselling is provided by highly qualified personnel from any location through the use of our 24-hour toll-free telephone lines. Callers can access immediate confidential counselling to address issues that have reached a critical point.

The 24/7 Teen/Parent Helpline service offers telephone consultation, information, and referrals for face-to-face support for teens and parents of teens. This confidential service addresses the unique concerns of teens and parents including issues of school, dating, sex, alcohol/drugs, family dynamics, child behaviour and communication.

The Take10 Helpline service is accessible 24/7 to provide employees who are at risk of losing control of their anger at work with immediate crisis defusing, support and direction. It also offers mini debriefings and safety planning for employees dealing with a workplace situation that has made them feel threatened and unsafe. (See also: Take10 Violence Prevention.)

Counselling is accessible immediately in crisis situations or as a scheduled office, telephone or on-line (e-counselling) appointment. The goal of EAP counselling is to empower employees through timely, short-term counselling. Our clinical approach is solution-focused and builds on client strengths through goal-setting, coaching and monitoring of progress and follow-up.

Specialized Services and Programs are unique to FSEAP and includes access and referrals to specialized one-on-one and group counselling services through our affiliated Family Services community programs. Family Services community programming varies to meet the needs of each community and may include parenting programs, support for separated families, caregiver support, family violence programs, services for ethno-cultural groups and services to address health and mental health concerns.

EAPs typically also incorporate elements of Work-Life Consultations, Life Coaching, Addiction Intervention, Just-In-Time Consultations for Managers and Wellness Seminars and Training Workshops.
